2026 will be a key year for agrivoltaics in Italy. The consolidation of regulations regarding eligible areas, the new provisions of the Testo unico, the rulings of the Constitutional Court, and investments related to the PNRR calls for proposals will finally clarify the true importance of agrivoltaic systems, which currently represent one of the most promising configurations for Italy’s strategy in agriculture, livestock farming, and photovoltaic production for food sovereignty and energy security.
